This first method uses spent coffee grounds.

  •  Sprinkle some  coffee grounds over the blotted area, these will absorb the remain milk and will remove the smell.
  • After a few hours, check to see if the the coffee grounds are dry. Once you’ve confirmed this vacuum the coffee grounds up. Your carpet should no longer smell like milk.

Using White Vinegar to Remove Milk Smell from Carpet

Vinegar is another household can be great for removing stains and odours in your carpet. To remove the smell of milk, these are the steps you will need to follow.

  • Once again you will need to blot the milk spill with a cloth to remove as much of the milk as possible
  • The vinegar should then be sprayed on the affected area directly and left to sit for 30 minutes.
  • Let the area air dry. Over time, the smell of vinegar and spilled milk will gradually disappear.

Washing Up Liquid And Baking Soda Can Be Used To Get Rid Of The Milk Smell In Carpets.

You can also use baking soda and dish-washing liquid to get rid of the milk smell from carpeting.

  • Prepare a homemade cleaning solution with two cups of warm water and one teaspoon of bleach-free washing-up liquid.
  • Apply your solution with a sponge to the odor-causing area.
  • Afterward, completely cover the carpet with baking soda.
  • Overnight, leave the baking soda to work.
  • The following morning, brush off all baking soda residue, then vacuum the area thoroughly.

Your carpets should now be free of milk odour, so you can celebrate with a nice glass of cold coke, but be careful not to spill it, as coke stains can be a pain to deal with!
